091 – GMBR 11″ VT Native Wood Banjo
This banjo was made for a raffle at the Green Mountain Bluegrass Festival in 2019. It features all native Vermont hardwoods and custom inlays depicting the logo of the festival and the state of Vermont. It’s built from Cherry which naturally darkens over time so the contrasts of the wood become more enhance and the colors become much more rich over an extended time making for an instrument that visually changes slightly with age.

This banjo is the first of a sustainable model that I’ve introduced. It features all domestic hardwoods, Richlite details, and minimal plastics (the only plastic is the tuner knobs). It also features my preffered waterbourne “ultra-low” VOC lacquer finish which has an incredibly low impact on the environment compared to traditional finishes.

085 – 6 String Walnut and Brass Banjo
This is the first six string (low bass) banjo that I made. It was built for the skilled hands of Jake Blount (https://jakeblount.com/) using African Adinkra Symbols as inlay and the brass cutouts. The second banjo I’ve made featuring hand hammered brass details. This banjo is a beautiful example of expression of an artist continuing to the instrument they play.
