115 – The “Little People” Banjo

/ / Banjos

Having a theme for a banjo design can be very fun and lead to unexpected directions for inlay and instrument design. The theme for this one being mythical “little people”. Gnomes, Elves, a fairy, and a Leprechaun adorn this banjo in a playful way. The Gnomes were inspired by the work of Wil Huygen from his “Gnomes” book. The inlays are a mix of Reconstone, wood, and various colors of Mother of Pearl and then hand engraved for final details. Of course the banjo was smaller than usual as well to fit the theme.
