1931 Gibson TB-2 5 String Conversion Banjo

/ / Banjos

This banjo started its life in 1931 as a Gibson TB-2 banjo. Complete with the pearloid fingerboard and silkscreened “inlay” designs. We kept all the original appointments of the banjo but went with an Ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay for a classic look as well as improving the playability with a radiused fingerboard and slightly larger frets. A classic of the Gibson banjo world, these banjos feature a rolled brass tone ring which have a surprisingly excellent tone with no real need to swap them to a heavy modern flathead tone ring. A great banjo for both three finger and clawhammer style playing. The original silk screened inlay designs worked really well converted to real Mother of Pearl inlays.
