154 – 12″ Claro Walnut Slothead Banjo
This 12″ Claro Walnut slothead banjo showcases some stunning wood paired with tasteful details. Claro Walnut is known for it’s beautiful color variations and when it’s figured as this example is it’s a sight to behold. This wood did not disappoint! The tone is even more rich than the visual the wood provides and the Honduran Rosewood tone ring with the Menzies Goat skin head makes for a banjo you don’t want to put down. The brass scoop plate features an acid etched design using an original M.C. Escher tessellation sketch. Being a huge M.C. Escher fan since a young child it was fun to incorporate a hint of his inspirational artwork on a banjo.

153 – 12″ Walnut Slothead Dobson Special Banjo
This banjo features my first metal engraving on a banjo! A simple detail on the brass scoop plate but unique and exciting to finally venture into the world of metal engraving and expand my engraving skills as a whole. There are other fun Brass details throughout the banjo including the Brass and Reconstone hexagon inlays and brass side dots. This banjo also features the first of my new tension nut design that echos designs of the past while being something entirely new. An exciting venture into more custom hardware and details for Seeders Instruments!
The unique slotted 5th string design that sits on the 7th fret instead of the 5th emulates some of Henry Dobson’s original Dobson banjos. His banjos had this detail placed on the 5th to 7th fret and anywhere in between. This gives the player a little more room behind the platform which takes up a little more space to allow for the tuner to be mounted.
